WHY STUDY AT CECI BILINGUE
English in regular schools is focused on grammar and memorizing vocabulary lists. Classes have little or no speaking practice.
At CECI Bilíngue, we work with the English language in science, mathematics, geography, and history classes. Therefore, our students link vocabularies and structures of the English language within the contents of these subjects.
Besides, at CECI Bilíngue, students have Language Classes, which focuses on the four English language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking, allowing our students to acquire the second language naturally and integrated with all subjects of the Brazilian curriculum.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
The Early Childhood Education occur before the age of six, and it is during this period that a child goes through the most rapid phase of growth and development. Their brains develop faster than at any other point in their lives, so these years are critical. The foundations for their social skills, self-esteem, perception of the world and moral outlook are established during these years, as well as the development of cognitive skills.
The students all at different phases of development, and their needs vary greatly.
The teachers have one class and they teach their students several different subjects. The curriculum is structured around the fundamental subjects of mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, music, art and reading.
The main goal of middle school is to bridge the gap between elementary and high school, and to smooth the transition of young students into their adolescence.
Middle school combines elements from both elementary school and high school. Teachers of different academic subjects work as a team with the same group of students. Each teacher instructs on their own subject, though there is close interaction between teachers to foster a sense of community and togetherness.
The school was founded in November 2001 with the goal of providing quality education to serve as a solid educational foundation for students' cultural and emotional growth.
In 2012, the school implemented the Bilingual Education System. This System was designed with the purpose of preparing its students to acquire knowledge in a permanent way, anticipating the future challenges of their personal and professional life.
Bilingual Education is a System where all subjects developed in regular disciplines are also covered in the English Language, i.e., on a daily basis Portuguese, Mathematics, History, Science and Geography classes are reviewed in the English language, creating a foreign language immersion system. In addition, the System explores Anglo-Saxon culture by looking at its customs and traditions. The results have been extraordinary. Children who study subjects in both languages are encouraged from a very early age, to understand different cultures and think outside of the box. This in turn then helps them with general culture and to better understand the world in which we live in today.
The Learning Environment is very important also above, therefore comfortable classrooms, a large recreation courtyard and sports area, with reduced number of students per class is proposed. This is so that the students are relaxed and feel at ease to work but also so that the teacher can spend the most time possible with each student.
Teachers participate in several educational, methodology and behavioral trainings to ensure the efficiency of their classes.
